Ah, this represents such a precious and sweet memory to me!
I was a student at the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU - 上海外国语大学), attending classes with my dear friends Annalisa and Cristina and many other good classmates. One day, one of our Japanese classmates, Tomoko, came into the room, her usual bright enthusiasm, and soon after she had convinced all the girls to participate to a song contest, organized by the school. I am tone-deaf, but at the time I hadn't figured out yet, so I said: let's do another crazy thing, come on, why not!?
Tomoko came up with everything: the idea, the subscription to the contest, the enrollment, the song's choice... she said it was a hit at the radio in that moment, and I took it like that. I think we, Italians, proposed the hands' choreography during the refrain (who else could think of hands' movements, if not Italians?!) and there we were!
The day of the contest was a blast. I might not sing well, but I put my heart out there and I only remember feeling beyond happy for performing on a Chinese stage, with friends from everywhere in the world... that was 2006. I still have the video saved in my records and I enjoy watching it, from time to time. It's a dear dear dear memory!
The song's content and meaning was a bit strange to me. I think I understand it more today, after several years. I share it here, for you to enjoy. It's pretty easy to understand and memorize. I hope it can become soon one of your fav too!
