Penny Tai* is a Malaysian Chinese singer and songwriter.
Here some fun facts:
since her debut in 2000, she has released ten albums
she has written all the songs she has been releasing so far (she also writes for other singers)
she holds the record, in the Malaysia Book of Records, as the artist who composed the most songs in Malaysia
你要的爱/Ni Yao De Ai (The Love You Want) is probably her most famous song. It was the closing song for the popular TV drama, Meteor Garden.
As the opening song from Harlem Yu, also this lyric is pretty descriptive of the drama's story essence.
I personally prefer Harlem Yu's song, because of the more joyful vibe, however, I do recognize that Penny Tai's is very sweet and delicate and it makes totally sense its presence into the MG drama tracklist.
